Inspect Point’s building management software expands to Canada

“The Troy software startup Inspect Point is ready to sell to a new set of customers with the expansion of its platform.

Inspect Point’s software allows fire protection companies to manage building inspections, proposals, invoices and service tickets through a cloud-based application. Installing the systems is a one-time deal that companies do on their own, but when they get contracts for continuous inspection and maintenance and repairs, Inspect Point can be helpful in managing that business.”

GlobalFoundries making major gift to Hudson Valley

“eter Benvon, the general manager of GlobalFoundries’ Fab 8 computer chip factory, will announce Thursday a “major gift” to Hudson Valley Community College’s foundation, which is raising money for an expansion of HVCC’s Malta campus.

The $7 million project will include a new building at the Malta campus, which is next door to Fab 8 and is going to be rebranded HVCC North with expanded educational and workforce training programs in not only technology, but healthcare and skilled trades.”

Klocke Estate’s goal is to make world-class brandy in Columbia County

“The 182 acres that John Frishkopf and his investment partners bought in Columbia County provide the bucolic setting, stunning views and hilly terrain to grow, distill and showcase what he says will be a world-class brandy called Klocke Estate.

But, just like the aging process for the liquor, it’s taken a long time to get to the point where land clearing has started for the distillery and tasting room off 2678 County Route 27 in the town of Claverack.”

Builders John and Mike Munter planning spec warehouse in Saratoga Springs industrial park

“Brothers John and Mike Munter want to construct a 70,000-square-foot warehouse on the eastern edge of the W.J. Grande Industrial Park in Saratoga Springs.

Multiple requests for warehouse and manufacturing space have prompted the Munters to file plans to construct a building before securing a tenant for the first time in at least seven or eight years.”

Scannell Properties gets approval for second Schodack Amazon distribution center

“Construction of another Amazon warehouse has been approved in the Rensselaer County town of Schodack.

The planning board this week unanimously approved a 278,670-square-foot building on the south side of Route 150 at the corner of U.S. 9 and 20.”

Hudson Valley Community College expanding near GlobalFoundries

“GlobalFoundries on Thursday said their $500,000 gift to Hudson Valley Community College will help create a new training center at the school’s North Campus here.

It’s part of HVCC’s $12.5 million expansion project to develop workforce training programs for high demand areas such as semiconductor manu
