Eagan: CEG-Chamber Affiliation Yields Greater synergies and Collective Impact

As the Center for Economic Growth (CEG) and Capital Region Chamber further integrate as a result of our affiliation, it is becoming apparent just how much of a powerful alliance we have created for the Capital Region’s economy. By placing regional economic development and business advocacy organizations under one roof, we have clearer lanes on which to drive our missions. And our new chief economic development officer, Katie Newcombe, is doing a superb job in  aligning strategy to help our region realize its economic potential.

As the regional economic development organization, CEG’s objectives are to:

  • Attract investment and talent.
  • Grow manufacturing and workforce capabilities, industry clusters, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Prepare the region to compete.
  • Convene stakeholders to move high-impact projects and strategies forward.

I invite you examine CEG’s 2020 Activity Snapshot (above) for some highlights from this past year.

As we work toward  recovery in 2021, we will continue to work with entrepreneurs and manufacturers and provide original research and analysis to provide insight into our region’s economy and assets. And we remain future focused. Some exciting and promising areas CEG is working on include offshore wind and we’ll be launching a content-driven website and digital marketing platform for regional talent attraction.

For the past 12 months we’ve shown the world the Capital Region’s resilience. I want to thank our investors for your loyal support of CEG, which I believe will hasten the Capital Region’s recovery from this crisis.

Sincerely,

Mark Eagan
