10:00am – 2:00pm: Family Fun & Vendor Showcase – Malta Sunrise Rotary Club
Location: Hudson Valley Community College’s TEC-SMART Facility, 345 Hermes Road

Details: Hudson Valley Community College hosts the Malta Sunrise Rotary Club for an all day FREE showcase of local and regional talent, inventors, musicians, artists, crafters, growers, organizations and businesses. Sign-up and participate in various competitions, such as robotics, LEGO, paper airplanes, photos, art, music, and film. Build an origami mobile, “Dunk-a Politician,” and learn about the state-of-the-art educational facility that provides instruction in clean energy and renewable technologies. Get excited and have FUN!

Leveraging the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Effect

The Southern Saratoga Chamber’s Committee on Small Business Resources in partnership with Success Magazine invite you to a discussion aimed at helping you to understand and leverage the fast-paced growth due to the addition of GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 to our region.  The speakers and format have been chosen to help our members grow and prosper as our area does.

Hear from the individuals who are initiating, funding, building, and leveraging the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Effect.

Speakers and Panelists will include:
Jeff Stone, President of the Capital District Region of Keybank – to discuss Keybank’s role as a resource in the area providing the finances needed to jump start and sustain business growth

Robert Blackman – Chair of the Board of Directors at the Center for Economic Growth and Vice President at Realty USA - to discuss the current and expected impact on the residential and commercial real estate market as new businesses and families relocate to our region. Learn which communities are most attractive and expected to grow.

David Rooney – Senior Vice President of the Center for Economic Growth – taking a look at the demographics of th individuals and businesses who are coming to our area including cultural, gender, economic status, and new industries and jobs. Who will our new neighbors be and how do we help them get settled.

Dennis Brobston – President of Saratoga Economic Development Corp.- works to retain existing businesses while creating new jobs in Saratoga County. SEDC is the central point of contact for business development and our mission is to create jobs and diversify the tax base while improving the quality of life for the residents of Saratoga County.

Bob Callender – Vice President NYS Energy Research & Development Authority – NYSERDA facilitates change through the widespread development and use of innovative technologies to improve the State’s energy, economic, and environmental wellbeing.

Ken Jersen – Chief Operations Officer of Jersen Construction Group
– having completed billions of dollars in successful construction projects in NYS. Jersen constructs for both the public and private sector focusing on commercial, industrial, institutional, heavy civil, and hi-tech facilities.

Angelo Mazzone – Owner of Mazzone Management Group
– In December of 2009, Angelo created another division of Mazzone Management Group with Prime Business Dining. Beginning with a 9,000 square foot cafeteria and break tent for the workers of GLOBALFOUNDRIES.

Angela McNerny – President & Executive Director of Tech Valley Connect – Tech Valley Connect is an innovative program designed to provide focused assistance to relocating professionals. Their mission is to increase retention and recruitment of top talent to the Capital Region.
