Keynote: Martin Babinec
Martin Babinec, a serial entrepreneur and Upstate venture catalyst, will share insights about the communities in which emerging tech companies start and thrive – including prospects for both the Capital District and broader Upstate region to better leverage our vast talent pool to create more fast growth companies and jobs.
Mr. Babinec is founder and Board member for Silicon Valley based TriNet, a leading provider of bundled HR products, strategic services and software for growing companies throughout the U.S. Founded in 1988, the company has grown to an annual sales of more than $1.5 billion and executed a successful Initial Public Offering on the New York Stock Exchange in March 2014. Mr. Babinec is also Founder and Chairman of Upstate Venture Connect, a 501c3 non-profit with a mission to accelerate Upstate startup job growth by helping first time entrepreneurs connect with high impact resources throughout the region and beyond. He is co-founder of Syracuse based StartFast Venture Accelerator and has helped form four seed capital funds where local individuals pool funds to invest in startups. In 2013 Mr. Babinec founded IntroNet, a software startup that is building a platform helping individuals and organizations build stronger relationship networks by enabling and tracking introductions and referrals. He is also Founder and Principal at UpVentures – where he makes direct investments in startup companies and serves as limited partner and advisor to several venture capital and seed funds.
