Ángel Enríquez – Emboa Medical

Emboa Medical has developed a novel blood clot extraction device to address the prevalent issue of stroke, which is the second leading cause of death in the world. Current tools for surgeons solving ischemic stroke rely on removing blood clots to restore blood flow to the brain. But their tools are limited with smaller sized blood vessels. Using nature-inspired design, Emboa Medical has developed a novel tool that increases blood clot extraction forces regardless of catheter size.

Daniel Van Hoesen – Euler Science

Euler Science is a small team of physicists / data scientists who have expertise in data science, machine-learning, condensed matter, computational biophysics, and related areas. Altogether, we have a combined experience of 15 years in software and web development. Traditional search engines are poorly adapted for fields that rely heavily on exploration and discovery as they adapt rank-based methods for the presentation and interrogation of queries. In many fields, particularly research, identifying and discovering high quality and relevant scientific results and prior art are key to technological advancement. ARCHIMEDES (ARCHetype for IMprovED knowledgE Search) is Euler Science’s upcoming search engine that aims to make the process of exploration and discovery more efficient and intuitive by recontextualizing its problem domain.
