Knowledge @ Noon: How Can a Makerspace Supercharge a Manufacturing Community?

March 12: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Makerspaces have become a fixture of vibrant, creative communities, taking different forms to meet local needs.

Tech Valley Center of Gravity, the Capital Region’s makerspace, has provided equitable access to the resources, equipment, and education necessary to bring physical things to life since its founding in 2013. Hear about how new and established manufacturing businesses have benefited from makerspace access, as well as the untapped potential for continued growth of a talented, passionate manufacturing community in the Capital Region.

Meet Our Presenter:

Dan Falkenstrom is the Operations Director at Tech Valley Center of Gravity. Dan started with TVCOG as a member and volunteer in 2013, and now leads their staff in managing daily operations. He received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from RPI, and subsequently spent several years in manufacturing engineering roles at Pratt & Whitney, Knolls Atomic Power Lab, and General Electric.

Following the presentation there will be an opportunity for Q&A.
