Coxsackie, Catskill sites eyed for affordable housing projects

“The Greene County Industrial Development Agency is looking for developers interested in building workforce housing on vacant land it owns in the towns of Coxsackie and Catskill.

The board of the county-affiliated organization last month approved the issuance of a formal request for information from firms with experience in affordable housing development. Responses are due by the end of the year.”

Schenectady cleanup will open way for redevelopment

“An environmental cleanup of an old manufactured gas plant in downtown Schenectady is laying the groundwork for a potential redevelopment of the site.

A black oily substance known as coal tar is being treated and removed from the soil and groundwater of the land at the intersection of Broadway, Clinton and Hamilton streets, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.”

Xanadu Quantum taps GlobalFoundries to build components in NY

“A Canadian quantum computing company with a growing presence in Albany has enlisted GlobalFoundries to make key components.

Xanadu Quantum Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: XNDU) said Tuesday that it has struck a multiyear deal with the Malta-based chipmaker to ramp up development and production of advanced photonics components at GF’s Saratoga County complex.”

Jankow selected to redevelop corner of former Saint Rose campus

“The county-backed organization that is overseeing the redevelopment of the former College of Saint Rose campus in Albany has selected a well-known developer to take over a key corner of the site.

Following a closed-door executive session on Thursday morning, the Albany County Pine Hills Land Authority board voted to conditionally select developer Jankow Cos. to redevelop the 3.27-acre section of the campus near the intersection of Western Avenue and Partridge Street.”

GlobalFoundries to produce silicon interposers for TSMC’s CoWoS in the US — Five-year agreement valued at $2 billion | Tom’s Hardware

“GlobalFoundries and TSMC have entered into a five-year manufacturing agreement valued at $2 billion under which GlobalFoundries will produce silicon interposers for TSMC’s CoWoS advanced packaging technology. The arrangement will establish a U.S.-based manufacturing source for these components, which will enable TSMC’s clients to brand their products as completely made and packaged in America. Volume production is scheduled to ramp up in the first half of 2028.”
