Menlo Micro decides to build chip fab in upstate New York

“Menlo Microsystems, a California company that makes electronic switches, or chips, for 5G cellphone networks, electronic cars and “smart home” devices, has decided to establish a $50 million chip factory outside Ithaca.

The company has its headquarters in Irvine, Calif., but has been doing its research and development at Albany Nanotech.”

Irving Tissue Plant In Fort Edward Plans To Build A 66,200-Square-Foot Warehouse

“Irving Tissue Fort Edward will soon begin construction on a 66,200-square-foot warehouse on existing property connected to the Fort Edward facilities, according to plant manager Eric Dawson.

‘We’re excited to announce an expansion at our tissue manufacturing plant to include a new warehouse,’ said Dawson. ‘The added space will be used to store our large parent rolls on site and reduce waste from offsite paper handling.’”

Saratoga County tourism drove $650M in economic activity in 2021

“Now, everyone can feel like a swell at the Saratoga Race Course, at least when it comes to admission to the track’s storied clubhouse.

Track goers will this year have access to the grandstand and the clubhouse for the same admission price, $7 in advance and $10 on the day of the race. (Since 2019, admission had been $7 to the grandstand, while admission to the clubhouse had been $10.)”

‘AI Breakfast Club’ meets to discuss artificial intelligence, technology landscape

“Artificial intelligence has rapidly altered the technology landscape, and a group of local business leaders have begun to centralize the discussion in the Capital Region.

Sean Austin, CEO of Helios Life Enterprises, and Craig Hall, founder of Marketing Wiz, have established a group to “open up a dialogue” around AI, its effects, and its future, said Hall. The ‘AI Breakfast Club’ hosted its inaugural meeting at Saratoga CoWorks in downtown Saratoga Springs on June 23.”
