Despite offshore wind woes, Port of Coeymans as busy as ever

“Although the global offshore wind market has been on the skids, the Port of Coeymans is still busy supplying two offshore wind projects that survived and hosting a variety of businesses that keep it busy throughout the winter.

A bevy of activity was ongoing at the Port of Coeymans last week during a tour of the port with Nick Laraway, chief operating officer of Carver Cos.”

Finch Paper CEO Drew Gardner on the push for ‘continuous diversification”

“Drew Gardner, Finch Paper’s new CEO, started his career with GE, which took him all over the world.

As a participant in two prestigious GE leadership development programs, the Philadelphia-area native embedded with divisions across the world, including in Schenectady, Atlanta, France and Switzerland.”

GE Vernova Foundation to provide $100K in scholarships

“On the heels of GE Vernova announcing large new investments in its Schenectady and Niskayuna campuses, the GE Vernova Foundation is launching a scholarship program that will provide $100,000 for vocational and technical training for current and prospective workers interested in a career in energy.

The foundation announced on Wednesday that is investing $500,000 in five cities to provide vocational training for workers pursuing careers related to electric power, with Schenectady joining Houston, Texas, Greenville, South Carolina, Pensacola, Florida and Charleroi, Pennsylvania as cities with GE Vernova facilities to receive the scholarship funding.”
