Advance Albany County Alliance gets $500K for Al Tech redevelopment
“Albany County’s goal of transforming a state Superfund site into an advanced manufacturing campus is one step closer to reality.
Advance Albany County Alliance, the county’s lead economic development arm, will receive $500,000 through Empire State Development’s FAST NY program, which supports infrastructure investments for high-potential sites, for the former Al Tech Specialty Steel Co. site in Colonie.”
Galvan Foundation moves Hudson projects forward ahead of Bard transfer
“The Galvan Foundation is moving forward on several redevelopment plans in the city of Hudson, even as the organization prepares to transfer most of its extensive real estate portfolio to Bard College.
Galvan — the largest private property owner in Hudson — is pursuing three construction projects across the city. Representatives recently met with the city planning board to seek approvals for these projects, which are in various states of construction.”
NY Creates, Japanese semiconductor company agree to $75 million deal
“NY Creates and SCREEN, a Japanese semiconductor company, have agreed to a 10-year, $75 million research partnership at the Albany NanoTech complex on Fuller Road.
SCREEN specializes in making wet-etch equipment used during the lithography process of chipmaking in which the initial chip designs are “etched” onto the 12-inch silicon wafers used to make individual chips.”
Regeneron gets $47M in incentives for Saratoga Springs facility
“The Saratoga County Industrial Development Agency on Dec. 9 approved a nearly $47 million package of tax breaks for the biotechnology company, which last month disclosed its intent to adapt the former Quad plant in Saratoga Springs for drug manufacturing.
The maker of retinal-disease drug Eylea has said its transformation of the 1 million-square-foot building in the W.J. Grande Industrial Park project will result in 1,000 new jobs, plus 500 temporary jobs during a years-long construction period.”
Village of Coxsackie installing two water tanks to increase storage capacity
“Site work is underway to prepare for the installation of two water tanks near the Village of Coxsackie’s Water Treatment Plant off Titus Mill Road.
The two side-by-side, 900,000-gallon steel tanks are intended to address the water system’s lack of storage capacity, something village officials have described as a longstanding weakness.”
Serta to expand workforce in West Coxsackie
“The Serta Simmons Bedding plant on Houghtaling Road will be bringing on dozens of more employees.
Greene County Industrial Development Agency (GCIDA) Executive Director April Ernst told county lawmakers this week that the local facility will be adding around 75 more workers following the closure of its sister plant.”
Nine Pin Cider doubles production capacity with new canning line
“Nine Pin Cider is wrapping up a year of significant growth.
The cidery added a new high-tech filling and packaging line that more than doubles the previous line’s production capacity, filling up to 100 cans a minute. The company also began distributing cider with DeCrescente Distributing Co. in July, which is expanding its sales footprint.”
