RAITH invests $12M in Rensselaer Technology Park facility
“A German manufacturer has renovated its longtime North American outpost in North Greenbush, expanding the sales-and-service office into a customer-facing technical center.
RAITH, which makes nanofabrication tools used by semiconductor companies and researchers, recently invested more than $12 million in equipment and renovations for its nearly 20,000-square-foot facility at 300 Jordan Road in the Rensselaer Technology Park.”

Anderon, IBM’s new quantum company, names Mukesh Khare CEO
“IBM’s new Albany-based subsidiary has finalized its $1 billion funding award with the federal government.
Anderon, which makes semiconductor wafers for quantum computing, an emerging technology that could be used to solve complex problems, has also selected its first CEO: Mukesh Khare, a key leader of IBM research operations in Albany and elsewhere.”
Galesi Group plans new warehouse at Glenville park
“With construction almost finished on a large warehouse at the Glenville Business and Technology Park, and a tenant lined up, The Galesi Group is already planning a similar investment next door.
The Schenectady-based commercial real estate developer is pursuing a 105,000-square-foot warehouse at the industrial park off Route 5 (Amsterdam Road).”
NY Creates to help chip industry develop larger ‘masks’ for designs
“Researchers at NY Creates’ Albany NanoTech complex on Fuller Road are helping the computer chip industry develop larger photomasks used to print atomic-scale chip designs onto silicon wafers.
These photomasks, or masks, are similar to old film negatives used to print photos onto paper before photography went digital. But they are much more expensive to make, costing between $1 million and $15 million, depending on the complexity of the chip.”
