Bank of America plans new Albany regional office
“Bank of America announced on Thursday that it will invest more than $23 million in a new regional office that will be constructed at Century Hill Plaza in Latham.
The new office will be built at 16 Plaza Drive in the office park off Route 9 developed by First Columbia. The site is next to the building that includes offices for Community Bank and AngioDynamics.”
Galesi, Columbia chosen for Albany Liberty Park project
“A team that includes Galesi Group and Columbia Development has been selected as the master developer for the Liberty Park site in downtown Albany.
The Capitalize Albany committee charged with reviewing proposals for the long-vacant site made the decision official during a meeting early Tuesday afternoon.”
G&G Industrial Lighting plans to expand Saratoga County HQ
“Less than two years after relocating to a freshly renovated and upsized headquarters in Malta, G&G Industrial Lighting is expanding the facility again.
‘We should have done it back then,” CEO Jason Baright said with a laugh. “Material costs were a lot cheaper.’”
Schenectady, Albany Troy placed 13th on Indeed’s list
“The Albany, Schenectady and Troy metro areas were ranked 13 out of 228 on Indeed’s ‘Best Cities for Work 2026’ list released Aug. 25. The list is built around job availability, security and quality.
The inaugural listing is based on 228 U.S. metro areas with populations of 200,000 or more. The list is based on six pillars: job opportunity, compensation, job quality and security, career mobility and dynamism, work-life and flexibility and economic opportunity.”
Empire State Plaza to gets $25M upgrade plan
“The state’s property management arm has detailed how it plans to spend $25 million over the next few years to improve Empire State Plaza.
Nearly half of the $25 million allotment — part of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s broader, $400 million initiative to reinvigorate downtown Albany — will go toward making the stretch of South Swan Street that abuts the plaza more pedestrian friendly.”
