Mountaintop awarded DEC funds for outdoor recreation

“Two mountaintop communities are receiving nearly $250,000 in state funding to help bring visitors and residents closer to nature.

This week, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced more than $677,000 in Catskill Park Community Smart Growth Grant awards to seven projects benefiting the region. Among the awardees are the Town of Prattsville and Village of Tannersville.”

Bilinski’s wants to expand its Colonie facility

“The maker of Bilinski’s chicken sausages is seeking permission to expand its longtime production facility in Colonie.

Schonwetter Enterprises Inc., which owns the 8-acre property at 41 Lark St. near the Colonie/Cohoes boundary line, has submitted plans to the town of Colonie for a 30,000-square-foot expansion of the site’s existing 18,750-square-foot plant.”

Samascott Orchards rebounds from massive fire

“Jake Samascott was more than 20 miles away from his family farm when his wife called.

‘There’s a fire. It’s bad,’ she said the evening of Jan. 7, 2025.”

IBM and Lam Research Announce Collaboration to Advance Sub-1nm Logic Scaling

“IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Lam Research Corp. (NASDAQ: LRCX) today announced a collaboration aimed at developing new processes and materials to support sub-1nm logic scaling. Building on a long record of successful partnerships, the new agreement will focus on the joint development of novel materials, fabrication processes, and High-NA EUV lithography processes to advance IBM’s logic scaling roadmap.”

Jankow Cos. wants to convert 54 State St. into 120 apartments

“The law offices and other commercial tenants at 54 State St. in downtown Albany would be moved to a different nearby building, freeing up space to convert the mostly empty office building into 120 apartments under plans being pursued by a prominent developer.

Jankow Cos. is seeking approval from the city planning board to renovate the 10-story, 180,000-square-foot office building into market-rate apartments.”

Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen mac and cheese now in 120 stores

“Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen, an Albany-based soul food restaurant, debuted its macaroni and cheese in 21 Price Chopper and Market 32 stores about a year ago.

By the summer, that reach had grown to 32 stores in the chain.”
