Amazon buys land for distribution center in Montgomery County
“Amazon bought 143 acres in rural Montgomery County for a $621 million, 3.2 million-square-foot distribution center that will rise nearly five stories high.
The online retailer paid $13.5 million for the land along Route 5S in the town of Florida less than 2 miles from Exit 27 of the Thruway, according to the listing broker, JLL.”
Albany tech firms see employment rise in 2025
“Big names in tech, from Amazon to Tesla, have announced thousands of layoffs in recent years as the unemployment rate in the industry has nearly doubled since the start of 2024.
But data from the newest Tech Services Companies List — available to subscribers in full, below — shows that the largest firms in our region have been less caught up in the churn than places like Silicon Valley and Austin.”
