Palace Theatre gets $1M state grant toward upgrades

“A $1 million state grant is helping The Palace Theatre get closer to its goal of raising $4 million to pay for improvements and renovations, including a new, larger loading area to enable bigger acts to stage shows.

The Vaudeville-era theater in downtown Albany was awarded the funding in late December through the Regional Economic Development Council, according to an announcement from the office of Gov. Kathy Hochul.”

From Ideas to Impact: Capital Region’s Entrepreneur Boot Camp

“The Capital Region Chamber has graduated its 50th cohort from the Entrepreneur Boot Camp training course.

The Chamber has assisted approximately 1,500 entrepreneurs and business owners in the Capital Region. Many graduates have gone on to establish successful businesses.”

Overit acquires Web Traffic Advisors to boost SEO capabilities

“Albany marketing and communications agency Overit has acquired Web Traffic Advisors, a local consultancy that specializes in search engine optimization.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Web Traffic Advisors founder Chris Boggs is now part of the Overit team as chief organic strategist and brings more than 10 clients to Overit’s portfolio.”

RPI, South Korean small business group to collab on tech innovation

“Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy is collaborating with a South Korean organization that promotes small-and-medium-sized businesses from the Republic of Korea.

Officials from RPI and the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs held a signing ceremony for the agreement on Tuesday on the Troy campus to work together on “industrial technology development.”
