Hawk Drilling Co. adds staff and equipment: ‘We just keep growing’
“The owners of a well-drilling business in Saratoga County have doubled their workforce and tripled revenue since taking over the century-old family business five years ago.
‘This was an even bigger year than last year,” said Sandra Baldwin, president of Hawk Drilling Co. Inc., which she owns with her husband, Jeremy Baldwin. ‘We just keep growing.’”
GE Vernova nears completion of Niskayuna expansion
“A 50,000-square-foot renovation and expansion of GE Vernova’s Advanced Research Center in Niskayuna is nearing completion.
The energy company offered tours this week to media and public officials of the facilities off Balltown Road, which include a newly constructed, nearly 28,000-square-foot high-bay lab and demonstration center.”
Albany airport to add Allegiant flight to Fort Lauderdale
“The Albany International Airport is adding another direct flight to Florida this winter, this time to Fort Lauderdale.
Allegiant announced Tuesday that it will begin nonstop service between ALB and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in February. The flights will primarily be offered on Mondays and Fridays in both directions.”
Galesi Group gets approval for $135M insurance fund HQ in Latham
“The Galesi Group received site plan approval Tuesday to build a four-story, 136,400-square-foot headquarters and parking garage for the New York State Insurance Fund off Route 9 in Latham.
The Schenectady-based developer anticipates starting the $135 million construction project in February, and taking about 18 months to finish.”
RPI plans ‘reboot’ of 1,250-acre technology park
“Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute wants to reinvigorate its 1,250-acre business park in North Greenbush by investing in power infrastructure and marketing the site to high-tech industries.
‘We’re doing a reboot,’ President Martin Schmidt said of the Rensselaer Technology Park, where the private university manages more than 300,000 square feet of space off U.S. Route 4.”
BelGioioso Cheese to expand New York facilities
“Wisconsin’s BelGioioso Cheese Inc. is scaling up its operations in Schenectady County and another New York location.
The company is investing more than $23 million in its facilities at the Glenville Business and Technology Park and its plant in Campbell, Steuben County, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.”
