Indian university partners with UAlbany on chip fab training

“India is looking to significantly boost its computer chip manufacturing sector, having launched a new initiative called the India Semiconductor Mission that seeks to double the country’s semiconductor output by 2030.

But who will train all the computer chip workers that will be needed?

The University at Albany hopes to help fill that gap, at least for now.”

Scotia again seeking $4.5M NY Forward state grant

“The village of Scotia is again applying for a $4.5 million state grant to revamp portions of the Mohawk Avenue corridor, and officials are seeking public input to help inform the process.

For the second consecutive year, the village is hoping to secure a NY Forward grant in hopes of redeveloping its business corridor, riverfront and parks. The village applied for the grant last year and made it to the final round of applicants, but was unsuccessful.”

BDC Group plans flex warehouse project in Rotterdam

“A developer wants to build nine “flex” warehouses in the town of Rotterdam for a variety of commercial tenants, whether it’s retailers, a dance studio, a golf simulator, building contractors or those simply looking for storage.

“It’s going to be a mix of different folks there,” said Cosmo Marfione, managing principal of The BDC Group in Latham.”

Flomatic Corp. plans expansion in Glens Falls

“A valve manufacturer wants to nearly double the size of its facility in Glens Falls.

Flomatic Corp. has filed an application with the Warren County city to expand its headquarters by more than 50,000 square feet.”
