DESCRIPTION:CEG\, in partnership with the Manufacturing Association of Central New York\, is launching a new apprenticeship intermediary program. \nIf you’ve ever considered NYS Department of Labor apprenticeships at your facility- or if you’re new to them entirely – join us at the Desmond on Tuesday\, March 13th from 10 AM to 12 PM for an informational session about how we can help. \n REGISTER \nAbout the program\nStarting late spring/early summer\, CEG will act as an intermediary on behalf of our local businesses to help them establish New York State Registered Apprenticeships at their companies. Acting as a group sponsor\, CEG will ease the administrative burden of individual company registration. We will help manage your program and coordinate work-related classes with community colleges and other outside training providers. \n

SUMMARY:Grand Opening: The Prototype Center and The Manufacturing Incubator at the Tech Valley Center of Gravity
DESCRIPTION:Register for the double ribbon cutting and grand opening for The Prototyping Center and The Manufacturing Incubator\, propelled by IMC at Tech Valley Center of Gravity! These two facilities\, located in the heart of downtown Troy\, NY\, are now available to help Tech Valley inventors build businesses. \nThe brief ceremony will be followed by tours and equipment demonstrations\, as well as networking and light refreshments.\nThe Manufacturing Incubator\, propelled by IMC\, New York State’s newest 16V incubator supported by NYSTAR\, provides coaching and risk mitigation for startups seeking industry expertise to bring their physical product to market and create a revenue generating business. The light-filled beautifully renovated facility also provides studio space for start-ups to establish a business location\, with access to WiFi\, a document center\, a private meeting room and a 70-seat presentation room. \nThe Prototyping Center\, made possible through FuzeHub’s Jeff Lawrence Manufacturing Innovation Fund\, provides on-site prototype development and manufacturing technology and equipment including a 10×5′ CNC Gantry Router\, a Stratasys f270 professional 3D printer (provided by the Center for Economic Growth)\, a 2×4′ vacuum former\, a 130W 3×5′ laser cutter\, SOLIDWORKS and Fusion350\, with lean workstations\, and production and storage space. \nThese two additions to Tech Valley Center of Gravity compliment the 10\,000 square foot makerspace\, equipped with industrial sewing machinges\, 3D printers\, electronics workstation\, model shop\, metal shop\, welding shop\, woodshop and laser cutter.
