SUMMARY:BCNYS Renewable Energy Conference
DESCRIPTION:The aspirational goals established by the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act have set New York on a path to green energy\, but they aren’t without significant challenges for businesses and consumers. It’s time to explore how New York plans on achieving 70% renewable energy by 2030\, a fully decarbonized electric generating sector by 2040\, and state-wide net-zero emissions by 2050. This year\, the conference will focus on the benefits and impacts of these policy changes through panel discussions on the development and deployment of on -and- offshore wind and solar resources\, the reduction of emissions in the transportation sector and an update on the work of the Climate Action Council\, as well as utilizing biomass in the State’s energy mix\, lessons learned from Texas\, and developing a sustainable\, green workforce. \nDue to COVID-19 we will be holding this year’s Conference via Zoom\, but you will still be able to hear from leading voices in the fields of energy\, transportation\, technology\, academia\, government policy\, and business. The Conference is designed to allow you to learn\, meet subject matter experts\, and ask questions on issues most important to you. \nAgenda & Registration >> \n  \n

And the most to LOSE. \nNot having a good startup attorney is a game of catch-up: chasing partners who are not properly incentivized or running away from creditors who might have access to your personal assets. \nHaving a good startup attorney is a recipe for success: creating lasting growth from day one and capitalizing on it. \nDo you own or are you interested in owning a startup? Join Ana Galeano Principal\, Galeano Law Firm and Josh Koss\, Lawyer at the The Towne Law Firm\, for this essential presentation on the mistakes others have made by not starting\, building\, and protecting their emerging company the right way from the outset. \nAfter 27 years as a corporate lawyer\, entrepreneur\, and business owner\, Ana Galeano offers practical advice rooted in both legal doctrine and real-world experience. She was instrumental in growing the company from 2 employees to over 20\, securing over $12M in private and government financing and several patents\, and the delivery of the company’s first beta products. \nPrior to her roles as General Counsel\, Ana was an attorney at the Albany Law firm of Whiteman\, Osterman and Hanna where she helped to create Plug Power and Prime Care Physicians\, among other notable businesses. \nAna earned her J.D. degree at Brooklyn Law School where she was awarded a Deans Merit Scholarship and an International Business Law Fellowship.
