SUMMARY:Food for Thought #10: Driving Growth for NYS Manufacturers
DESCRIPTION:The Manufacturing Incubator at Tech Valley Center of Gravity presents Food for Thought #10: Driving Growth for NYS Manufacturers\n \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nThe Manufacturing Incubator at Tech Valley Center of Gravity presents Food for Thought: A Business & Product Development Virtual Luncheon Series. \nJoin us for a presentation on Driving Growth for NYS Manufacturers with FuzeHub’s Julianne Clouthier and Eric Fasser on June 2\, 2021 at 12:00pm EST. \nTransforming a new concept into a commercially viable product takes a lot of resources – prototyping\, engineering\, manufacturing expertise\, and funding\, to name a few. And if you don’t know where to turn for these\, your business can fail before it’s even started. \nJoin members of the FuzeHub team as they explain how early stage companies (as well as small-medium sized businesses) can tap into the largest network of manufacturing-related resources throughout New York State to get the training\, expertise\, and funding they need to overcome product development challenges. \nLearn more about specific programs including the NYMEP\, FuzeHub Solutions Program\, Manufacturing Reimagined and the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund. \nZOOM link will be provided in your registration confirmation email. \nREGISTER HERE\n——- \nAbout FuzeHub: \nFuzeHub provides New York State manufacturers and technology companies with guided access to our extensive network of industry experts\, programs and assets to solve productivity\, commercialization\, research and development issues\, and other challenges to growth. \nFuzeHub’s programs champion the New York State manufacturing and technology community and provide targeted resources to accelerate manufacturing competitiveness and technology commercialization. \n——- \nAbout the Presenters: \nEric Fasser is the Design and Engineering Solutions Specialist for FuzeHub\, and is focused on training start-ups and early stage innovators the basics of design for manufacturability\, lean product development and manufacturing planning concepts while helping them define and prepare for potential failure modes and connecting them with various resource partners throughout New York State. These techniques ultimately position these young companies to identify potential manufacturability issues early on (avoiding costly redesign and lost time)\, and then make the transition from prototype to volume production in order to achieve their growth goals. \nPrior to FuzeHub\, Eric ran his own engineering firm where he helped entrepreneurs and small manufacturers develop their innovative concepts into commercially viable products in industries as diverse as consumer goods\, tools\, medical devices\, biotech\, healthcare\, energy\, municipal\, and industrial. He provided design consulting to transform customer requirements into product features and take cost out of existing products\, created CAD drawings suitable for manufacturing\, and built working prototypes for customer feedback and investor presentations. \nEric received his MBA in marketing and entrepreneurship from Indiana University\, and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. \n——- \nJulianne Clouthier oversees the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund which is comprised of manufacturing grants\, a commercialization competition and an innovation challenge. The Fund provides $1M annually to not-for profits\, manufacturers and early stage technology companies in New York. \nJulianne has over ten years of economic development experience and has administered numerous microenterprise\, infrastructure and manufacturing related grant projects. She serves as a judge and panelist for numerous innovation and entrepreneurial programs. \nJulianne received her MBA from the University at Albany\, a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Mercyhurst College and is also an alumni of AlbanyCanCode. \nZOOM link will be provided in your registration confirmation email. \nREGISTER HERE\n******************** \nThe Manufacturing Incubator at Tech Valley Center of Gravity offers direct engineering consultation as well as coaching\, advice\, risk-mitigation strategies and need-based referrals for product development startups. This program is a community based\, independent and public program. The ideal clients are those who are developing a physical product and need assistance in prototype development\, design for manufacturing\, scaling up\, or other related design and manufacturing problems. \nWith our makerspace and prototyping center\, you can meet with your incubation team\, fabricate your prototype\, and manufacture your product all in the same building. \nThe Manufacturing Incubator is a certified NYS Incubator and affiliated Innovate 518 Hot Spot partner supported by the Empire State Development Division of Science\, Technology\, and Innovation (NYSTAR). \n\n
