EDC Warren County to Host Economic Opportunities Breakfast Program Wednesday, March 22, at Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls

 

Glens Falls, NY – EDC Warren County will highlight collaboration between Warren County and the Capital Region that can strengthen economic opportunities at a breakfast program on Wednesday, March 22 at The Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls. Three guest speakers will offer their perspectives on the outlook for the county and the Capital Region: Ronald Conover, Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors & Supervisor for the Town of Bolton; Andrew Kennedy, President & CEO of the Center for Economic Growth (former economic development and state operations official in the Andrew Cuomo Administration); and Michael Yevoli, Regional Director of the Capital Region office for Empire State Development.

“We are excited to combine the viewpoints of our county’s new chairman with commentary from two leaders with deep experience in regional and state economic development,” stated Ed Bartholomew, President of EDC Warren County. “EDC knows from experience that the best results involve collaboration among multiple players from diverse entities. This program will give us new context about our going efforts to move Warren County forward in 2017.”

The breakfast will be held at The Queensbury Hotel, 88 Ridge Street, Glens Falls, New York. Registration and networking begin at 7:30 a.m. The breakfast and program start at 8:00 a.m. and will adjourn by 9:15 a.m. Glens Falls Hospital and Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 773 are event sponsors.

About Ronald Conover
Ron Conover is serving his fourth term as Supervisor of the Town of Bolton. In January of 2017 he was elected Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors. Previously, he served four years as Deputy Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Finance Committee.  Earlier in his career, he was elected and served two terms in the Oneida County Legislature; served as Director of Planning and Community Development and Urban Renewal Executive Director for the City of Rome, New York;

About Andrew Kennedy
Andrew Kennedy is the President and CEO of the Center for Economic Growth. He previously served as the Deputy Director of State Operations for Governor Andrew M. Cuomo overseeing the day-to-day management of New York State government, as well as developing and overseeing implementation of state policies and programs related to economic development. Prior to that, Mr. Kennedy served as Governor Cuomo’s Assistant Secretary for Economic Development coordinating the development and management of the State’s economic development and housing efforts.

About Michael Yevoli
Michael Yevoli is currently the Regional Director of the Capital Region’s office for Empire State Development, where he manages the daily operations of the Capital Region’s office, and promotes economic development policies to attract and retain businesses and create jobs in the region. Additionally, he serves as Executive Director of the Capital Region Economic Development Council, coordinating the implementation of the region’s strategic plan.  Michael is experienced in real estate, economic development, community development, and urban and regional planning.
