NY Loves Clean Tech Delegation to attend at Renewable Energy Conference

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is one of many economic development organizations, higher education institutions and alternative energy companies representing New York state at the POWER-GEN Renewable Energy & Fuels conference in Las Vegas from February 19 through 21.
The statewide group, collaborating for the second consecutive year under the NY Loves Clean Tech banner, will set up a pavilion-style exhibit area at the conference. The initiative is organized by CEG with sponsorship support from National Grid, the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental & Energy Systems and Empire State Development Corporation.
“Attending key conferences allows Upstate New York’s alternative energy sector, which includes research organizations, educational institutions and a wide range of companies, to engage the global energy industry,” said F. Michael Tucker, CEG’s president and CEO. “By connecting with industry leaders from around the world, we can develop collaborative opportunities with the potential to yield significant growth for our region.”
Among the NY Loves Clean Tech exhibitors will be Green Core Central Upstate NY, a coalition working to position Central New York state as a premier location for investment in energy and environmental systems. Green Core is made up of 16 universities, companies and economic development agencies, including the Syracuse Center of Excellence for Energy and Environmental Systems.

CEG is working with the NY Loves Clean Tech collaboration as an integral component of its efforts to support alternative energy economic development throughout New York state. In March, the collaboration will attend the Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC), which is designed to bring together government, civil society and private business leaders to address the benefits and costs of an accelerated global deployment of renewable energy technology.
