MALTA — Startup Weekend, an intensive three-day workshop for entrepreneurs,  is taking place starting Friday at the Hudson  Valley Community College Tec-Smart campus in Malta.

The organizers, which are based in Seattle and backed by the Kauffman  Foundation, have staged hundreds of similar events around  the world.

Groups such as the Capital  Region Entrepreneurs Group and the Center for Economic Growth are local  sponsors of the event.
