Nalamasu, former vice president of research at the New York State Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) and a distinguished professor of materials science, engineering and chemistry, was founding director of the $20 million Center for Future Energy Systems.
The center’s goal is to help meet the state’s goal of getting 25 percent of its energy needs from renewable sources by this year.
