For Biomedical and bioengineering researchers, these grants are available for technology development projects and are selected for funding based on scientific and technical merit and potential economic impact. Maximum amount available is $150,000 (typically $50,000).


Agribusiness Productivity

Offered By: National Grid

For dairy companies in the National Grid New York service territory, the Dairy Industry Productivity program provides rebates to fund energy efficiency and/or productivity improvements undertaken by dairy businesses and dairy farms located within the service territory of National Grid. Maximum amount available is $150,000 (typically $50,000).


3-Phase Power Incentive

Offered By: National Grid

For manufacturing, agricultural, scientific/technical services, trade and support services, the 3-Phase Power Incentive program provides grants to help fund the extension of 3-phase electric service to eligible National Grid customers. Maximum amount available is $50,000.


EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grants

Offered By: Environmental Protection Agency

For state, local, and tribal governments, general purpose units of local government, land clearance authorities, or other quasi-governmental entities; regional council or redevelopment agencies; states or legislatures; or nonprofit organizations, funding for grant recipients to carry out cleanup activities at brownfield sites. Maximum amount available is up to $200,000 per site.


EPA Brownfields Job Training Grants

Offered By: Environmental Protection Agency

These Grants bring together community groups, job training organizations, educators, labor groups, investors, lenders, developers, and other affected parties to address the issue of providing environmental employment and training for residents in communities impacted by Brownfields. Maximum amount available is up to $200,000 over two years.


Global Export Market Service (GEMS)

Offered By: Empire State Development

GEMS assists New York companies by providing matching grants for export marketing projects for new-to-export and new-to-market companies. The funds are typically used to pay for consulting services resulting in export market development plans that benefit individual companies, groups of companies or industry associations. Designed to help small and medium-sized businesses get the technical, financial and marketing assistance they need to succeed in international markets, GEMS can provide up to $25,000 in export marketing consultant services custom-tailored to a company’s specific international business development needs.


Industrial Access Program

Offered By: NYS Department of Transportation

For Municipalities, industrial development agencies, and government agencies, The New York State Industrial Access Program has been designed to complement economic development projects throughout the State where transportation access poses a problem or may offer a unique opportunity to the viability of a project. Awards are made on a 60% grant, 40% interest free loan basis, up to a maximum of $1 million.


USDA Rural Development

USDA Rural Development, the economic and community development arm of the federal Department of Agriculture. Tasked with improving economic conditions and the quality of life in rural America, Rural Development provides loans, loan guarantees and grants through its housing, utilities and business programs. Within these three overarching programs, more than 20 different programs are available.
