CEG names annual technology award winners

John Cavalier wasn't expecting the Center for Economic Growth Inc. to give him the "Technology Mentor" award today.
"I was surprised," said Cavalier, 68. "I'm not even thinking about stuff like that anymore."
The award shouldn't have been a surprise. Cavalier is the former chairman, president and CEO of MapInfo Corp. (now Pitney Bowes MapInfo) who has counseled CEOs of startups for years. He is not sure just how many CEOs he has helped.
