Capital Region makes presence known at Semicon Europa

ALBANY — Local business and academic leaders are in Munich, Germany, this week touting the Capital Region’s semiconductor industry at the annual semiconductor trade show known as Semicon Europa.

Andrew Kennedy, CEO of the Center for Economic Growth in Albany, will participate on Wednesday in a panel discussion on New York State’s nanotech industry. Michael Liehr from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Albany will also participate, along with executives from Edwards Vacuum, M+W Group and GlobalFoundries, all of which have operations in the Capital Region serving the computer chip industry.
